Details

VLC has no sound on .mov videos coming from Apple's web site. Xine can play sound but video is choppy. Mplayer handles both well.

Additional comments about closing:  audio isn't supported for quicktime by vlc, ask the upstream devs why ?

Eugenia, does it still happend with latest vnc?
can you link to a move from the apple site you tried?

Yes, it still does. Just use the DOOM trailer. Download it using the mplayer-plugin (save as) and then play it with the players.

scroll down to the audio codecs look at QDM2/QDMC (QuickTime) and check the thirth box.
Audio for .mov is support in linux.
