Description:
/usr/lib/systemd/system/slapd.service has a few omissions: 1) The pid file resides in /run/openldap 2) The user and group to run as are not specified 3) No host URIs are specified 1) I suggest the following PIDFile= addition PIDFile=/run/openldap/slapd.pid 2 and 3) I suggest the following modification to ExecStart= ExecStart=/usr/sbin/slapd -u ldap -g ldap -h "ldap://127.0.0.1/ ldapi://%2frun%2fopenldap%2fldapi/" NOTE: This allows access, from the host on which openldap is installed, via TCP and local socket but users might copy and edit this file to change ldap://127.0.0.1/ to ldap://0.0.0.0/ for remote access via TCP.
