I have the same problem,I can't disable ibus-pinyin's double-pinyin profile,even when I use dconf-editor.and ibus-sunpinyin's setup is broken too.

This bug should have been fixed upstream, please test with latest ibus 1.4.99.20121109-1.

I'm still having the same issue with ibus-1.4.99.20121109-1 and ibus-pinyin-1.4.99.20120808-1 or ibus-pinyin-git-20121111-1 (from AUR). The preferences are now saved, and they show Full Pinyin being on rather than Double Pinyin, but it is still reading Double Pinyin (e.g. typing 'sh' produces 'sang').

Edit: The settings went into effect after a restart, and now Full Pinyin is used as per my settings. It's generating Invalid UTF-8 codes, but that's a different matter, I'm sure.

I have the latest ibus 1.4.99.20121109-1 tested, and I can use the full mode pinyin, but there is a problem:it seems like the configuration did not take effects right after I changed it,but delayed.pinyin full mode & double pinyin are totally different things,Some one prefer full mode, others may like double pinyin.People just choose which they like. So,no matter which of them, full mode pinyin or double pinyin was set default, when I made changes to the configuration,it should take effects immediately.

So depressed. I still can't use full mode for cfg can't be stored and read correctly.

Hmm, I guess you guys could give a try to ibus-libpinyin. I've added it to [community] today, and it seems to work well.

I have the most recent version of each installed (ibus-1.4.99.20121109-1, ibus-pinyin-1.4.99.20120808-1) and the bug is still present. I tried changing the settings to full pinyin then restarting, which is what I think asy did to get it to work, but the changes still don't take. Actually it's kind of strange. The settings say it's in full pinyin when you open them the first time, but it is really in double pinyin. Anyway, it looks like there's still some kind of problem upstream, so I'll go try the ibus bug site.

Looks like there was already an issue on the upstream issue tracker and mine was a duplicate. I didn't see the original issue because it was marked fixed, so it didn't appear in my search. Anyway, here's the original issue: http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=1542 Post there instead.

Reading the issue and your issue ewtoombs, upstream sugest using ibus-libpinyin in place of ibus-pinyin because Some dev think that the issue is fixed in git, but this is not true or almos for arch

I think that test the latest ibus-pinyin from upstream (1.5.0.20130324???) and build (or try) whit full mode and test, if work using these in arch, if not test the ibus-libpinyin as upstream suggest

Is this still a problem with ibus 1.5.3-1 and ibus-pinyin 1.5.0-2? If yes, then please fill a new upstream bug report.
