$ gtranslator: error while loading shared libraries: libgdl-3.so.2: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

current gdl version creates libgdl-3.so.5, tried to create symlink to that file, didn't help :)

P.S. tried to compile from source, it still don't work there is other problems(reported to gnome), but de facto: archlinux gtranslator package needs to be repacked.
This task depends upon

Reason for closing:  Fixed
Additional comments about closing:  in gtranslator 2.91.5-2. Layout loading is temporary disabled until upstream fixes it.

Did you compile from ABS?
Comment by gymka (gymka) - Friday, 02 November 2012, 08:07 GMT
as i said if i compile from source(either with version from git, either with abs) there is another problem:
i open gtranslator, open translation file and app crashes, in terminal there is error "(gtranslator:14032): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GdlDockItem' to `GtrWindow'
Segmentation fault"

Try the version here: http://pkgbuild.com/~jelle/

same result, crash and error:
(gtranslator:15038): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GdlDockItem' to `GtrWindow'
Segmentation fault

Ok then we need to provide a good backtrace by compiling it CLAGS="-g -O1"
Comment by gymka (gymka) - Friday, 02 November 2012, 09:50 GMT
reinstalled dependencies, compiled source(from git):
$ ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --disable-schemas-compile CFLAGS="-g -O1"
$ make
$ sudo make install
on compilation as always got "note: expected ‘struct GObject *’ but argument is of type ‘struct GdlDock *’
gtr-tab.c:735:3: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘gdl_dock_layout_new’ from incompatible pointer type [enabled by default]" and app still not works.

created patch which fixes problem.
P.S. i'm translator, not programmer(ofcourse i, like all linux users, have basic understanding about programmng) maybe patch completely wrong, maybe it causes crashes, security problems, etc. i don't care! i can launch application, open translation, translate, save file. translation memory works, i can change windows layout, i don't care about everythig else. i took code from anjuta source, there was similar problem.

Now I rebuilt gtranslator for gdl 3.6, and applied a patch to disable dockbar, because layout loading is completely broken with gdl 3.6.

This means that layout loading and saving will not works until upstream ports it to gdl 3.6, but all other functions are usable.
