Description:
Empathy new chat notifications doesn't work. Only after the window is open for the given conversation the notification pops up. For ubuntu quantal there are some patches probable related.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Login to empathy
2. Let somebody IM you
3. no notification, only a new icon is generated in the notification area
4. clicking the icon in the notification area no text is visible
5. after the window for the chat is opened notifications work as expected

nice, thank you for the report. I was thinking why the hell there is no notification.

i'll push this update later today since i have to rebuild some packages.
