DetailsDescription:
sane frontends (scanimage, xsane, etc.) started to provide corrupted image data sometime after Oct. 8. I am unable to track the issue down to an update. I am using the hp5400 backend (refer to the attached image of a blank plastic sheet), though I have also tried using a different scanner which is known to work, which requires the niash backend. With this backend, sane yielded a different corruption pattern, in particular, vertical streaking of the correct image, rather than noise. A cursory search of the Arch Linux bugtracker, WWW forum, and arch-general mailing list, sane's sane-devel mailing list and bugtracker, and the WWW, has not revealed any hits. Additional info: * package version(s) sane 1.0.23-1 * config and/or log files etc. $ scanimage -vv >test.pnm scanimage: scanning image of size 630x724 pixels at 24 bits/pixel scanimage: acquiring RGB frame scanimage: min/max graylevel value = 0/159 scanimage: read 1368360 bytes in total Closing device Calling sane_exit scanimage: finished Steps to reproduce: 1. scan using any settings with a sane frontend (e.g., invoke "scanimage -vv >test.pnm") |
