DetailsDescription:
About fifteen hours ago I compiled the latest nouveau driver using ABS and it seems to have resolved my issue with GPU lockups. The commit related to the issue is here:ubuntu-x@lists.ubuntu.com/msg00757.html"> http://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-x@lists.ubuntu.com/msg00757.html It seems the bug was encountered only if Option "GLXVBlank" was set to "true". Before compiling the latest version the GPU would freeze frequently (sometimes after a few minutes other times after a few hours). With the new version I did not encounter any lockup in 7 hours. Additional info: * package version(s) - kernel: 3.6.2-1-ARCH x86_64 - xfce: 4.10 - compiz: 0.8.8-4 - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.2-2 * config and/or log files etc. /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nouveau.conf Section "Device" Identifier "nvidia card" Driver "nouveau" Option "GLXVBlank" "true" EndSection Steps to reproduce: |
