Description:

I'm trying to start a netcfg profile that set up a tap interface. That interface will be used with an OpenVPN connection.

Due to manual DAD, netcfg remove the address from the interface and does not set it up.

Additional info:

$ uname -a
Linux ks356125 3.0.44-1-lts #1 SMP Tue Oct 2 22:18:44 CEST 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux

$ netcfg --version
netcfg v2.8.11

$ < /etc/network.d/gla0
#
# /etc/network.d/gla0
#

CONNECTION='tuntap'
INTERFACE='gla0'

MODE="tap"

USER="root"
GROUP="root"

IP='static'
ADDR='192.168.144.69'
NETMASK='31'

IP6='static'
ADDR6='2001:470:c8be:f2::2/126'
DAD_TIMEOUT="10"

SKIPNOCARRIER='yes'

# End Of File

Reproducing :

$ netcfg reconnect gla0
:: gla0 down [DONE]
:: gla0 up [BUSY] > Duplicate Address Detection is taking too long
[DONE]
$ ip addr show gla0
$ ip link show gla0
67: gla0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN mode DEFAULT qlen 500

I think the best way of resolving this problem is to add the posibility of disable DAD.

I tried to do DAD_TIMEOUT=0 but that don't work.

netcfg is currently an orphan, assigning to the two last maintainers that made modifications to this package within the last week.

Netcfg has an upstream maintainer: Jouke Witteveen (jouke) assign to him

Would it be fixed by replacing ADDR6 with the following?
ADDR6='2001:470:c8be:f2::2/126 nodad'
Comment by Arcaik (arcaik) - Sunday, 21 October 2012, 09:29 GMT
Ok, that fixed the problem.

Thank you !
