Description:

Hi !
I'm trying to install archlinux on industrial computer NanoBOX PC IPC277D,from SIEMENS
This system does not have any CDROM and I'm lunching the install from USB Key.
I've downloaded the last ISO version.
The problem is that the screen stays black after choosing install with x86-64 architecture...from the boot menu...
I've tried to add the optional end string (using tab and adding nomodeset or video=SVIDEO-1:d or acpi=off).

The video output is a DVI without analog signal (no DB adapter may works with these kind of video connector)

The chipset seems really standard and comes from INTEL so far I know.

After few lines of kernel init the screen stays black and the boot seems to stop after 10 seconds !

No more usb stick access seems to be done after 10sec...

Nothing can change the screen and the only way is to do a hard reboot to restart the system ...

Any Idea ????

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

have you tried adding "nomodeset" to the boot kernel line?

Two suggestions:
Does it work if you try vga=261, possibly in combination with nomodeset?
Have you checked that the file is copied correctly to the USB? (running md5sum on the device to compare it with the md5sum of the file you downloaded)

Also, you could try asking on https://bbs.archlinux.org/

thanks Alexander for your suggestions :
vga=261 option generate unreadable boot text before the screen is blanking wich is not happening without this command line otion

I've checked the md5 sum on the USB stick and everything is perfect....

Don't understand this install problem...
I should see the shell prompt, but can't see it !!
I'd really like to use archlinux distro for this industrial project !!!

HELP !

What is a "safe" resolution for your computer? 261 is just one of several available display resolutions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VESA_BIOS_Extensions#Modes_defined_by_VESA
Perhaps one of the other resolutions works?

Did one of the other graphic modes work?
