Details

Installed deluge 1.3.5-1 and it won't start. Output:

I looked at the optional dependencies and installed pygtk, and now the GUI client can be started. This information is documented on the wiki, so I apologize for the bug report.

But I wonder about if the packages needed to start deluge GUI shouldn't be installed by default, with mandatory dependencies.

No. Deluge can be used headless.
