When using go tool cmd/dist, go looks for a VERSION file in /usr/lib/go. When it fails to find that, it tries to do hg identify -b (because it thinks it's checking a hg checkout, which fails as well then). Additional info: * package version(s) 2:1.0.3-1 * config and/or log files etc. > abort: there is no Mercurial repository here (.hg not found) > > go tool dist: FAILED: hg identify -b > go tool dist: exit status 1 Steps to reproduce: Run go tool dist |
