Applications and libraries like opengtl only need the llvm libraries and not the whole compiler suite.

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  Yup, better to deal with this if and when it becomes an issue (e.g. more applications using just the shared libraries).

I guess your suggestion is to move the shared libraries (~20M) to a -libs package. This would save ~63M from the static libs. (Both are installed sizes.)

I don't think that 63M of saved disk space justifies the extra overhead/complexity, seeing as only opengtl (and perhaps gambas3-gb-jit?) would benefit from such a package.

Sorry, but won't implement.

OK, no problem. I think that llvm will probably get much more used in the future, so i guess that could happen at some later point. Feel free to close.
