Was the patch name really necessary?

If this is as "critical" as you claim it is, 3.5.6 will be released. However, I see no evidence that this is the case.

Looking at the commits, it seems that this is present in kernel since november 2011.
Why to add this now, we can still wait for 3.5.6

Thanks for looking into to, tpowa. I was unable to build a bfs kernel without the attached patch and defiantly not being a kernel expert myself, wanted to elevate this the right people to assess the importance of the patch pre-3.5.5; I was successful. To DR's point, I'll try not to use such alarmist terms in the future. ;)

EDIT: Look slike the gentoo boys picked up on this as well, albeit it with a less creative name for their patch :)
