Description:
/usr/share/eclipse/eclipse.ini contains stuff which is defacto configuration, and as it is not handled as configuration by eclipse package, it gets overwriten after each eclipse update.

eclipse.ini should be moved to /etc and considered configuration

if you look in that configuration file, there are versioned paths in there.
If is added as a backup in PKGBUILD and you do some modifications to it, on the next eclipse update, your eclipse won't work anymomre.

What kind of configuration are you doing in eclipse.ini?

I increase the memory values to improve performance.
If we move eclipse.ini I think we should do like debian and let /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse.ini be a link to /etc/eclipse.ini .
