I could observe the same behaviour previously, but I couldn't identify what is going on. And I still can't.

Versions of relevant packages are:
alsa-utils 1.0.26-1
linux 3.5.4-1
systemd 192-1
alsa-lib 1.0.26-1

The relevant part of the log is:

Sep 29 16:11:40 magma kernel: usb 1-5.3: new full-speed USB device number 11 using ehci_hcd
Sep 29 16:11:40 magma kernel: usb-audio: Fast Track Pro switching to config #2
Sep 29 16:11:40 magma kernel: usb-audio: Fast Track Pro config OK
Sep 29 16:11:41 magma systemd-udevd[15759]: error opening ATTR{/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.7/usb1/1-5/1-5.3/1-5.3:1.0/sound/card5/controlC5/...directory

My thinking is that there is a bug in udev rules, but I really do not know, exactly where. Could it be some race condition?

Just a quick update, with a current testing it still is not working. It seams, that the mentioned directory in the udev is not created. I am wondering, if it can be because of hardware fault (you can never know if it is the case) or what... What should I provide in addition to the information above in order to clarify the problem?

Still an issue with latest packages?

Well there is a similar error, but now everything works as far as I can tell... Now the error is:
Nov 07 17:11:51 magma systemd-udevd[2534]: error opening ATTR{/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.7/usb1/1-5/1-5.4/1-5.4:1.0/sound/card5/controlC5/../uevent} for writing: No such file or directory

as I see it is slightly different file, but I wonder whether it is a different problem...

At least for me, everything works as it should and I haven't noticed anything unusual for a while.
