You probably just need to wait for Qt-5.0 to come with a more recent port of webkit than the current 534.34.

qtwebkit 2.2.2-2 uses the previous build method (the one suggested by the webkit page). Check it and let we know.
Thanks

Where can I get 2.2.2-2 from?

Sorry, I didn't build it yet. :(

Compiling qtwebkit the upstream way doesn't help, but I just built a git snapshot of qtwebkit-2.3 and this is fixed, so it looks like an upstream issue after all.
Maybe it makes sense to switch the qtwebkit package to the 2.3 branch, since it has many fixes and new features (kwebkitpart has smooth scrolling and rekonq has inline spell checking when compiled against qtwebkit 2.3)

I read somewhere[1] that pyqt doesn't support 2.3 yet.

How about Qt-5 then? :)

well...I just built both qtwebkit 2.3 and pyqt 4.9.6 (upon qtwebkit23) with no issues.
I'm going to push qtwebkit-2.3git20130108 in [testing]
