There should be an option less strong than --force that allows writing over unowned files on the filesystem. Emerge has such a feature: COLLISION_IGNORE="/path/to/file" emerge... Instead of an environmental variable, I suggest adding an --overwrite flag that takes a list of files for which a conflict should be ignored. Perhaps allow wildcards and specifying a directory in which all conflicts are ignroed too. |
