python-lxml-docs is currently an AUR package. It should be included in the main repository as part of the python*-lxml PKGBUILD. I have okayed this with the current python-lxml-docs maintainer.

AUR Package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=62380

python-lxml is currently an orphan, assigning to the last packager.

Assigning to the two last maintainers that touched the PKGBUILD instead. (Please move this package to community if there is no interest for it). Thanks.

Since the two last maintainers that touched the PKGBUILD both are not interested, I'm assigning to the two maintainers before that.
Please move this package to community or unsupported if there is no interest for it.

This bug was left unassigned and python-lxml was left as an out of date orphan.
The last events here was BaSh assigning this bug to Snowman, then Snowman unassigned himself from it.
giovanni also tried assigning this one to Snowman earlier on, unsuccessfully.

Since there is no interest for python-lxml among the devs, could it please be either moved to [community] or to unsupported?

Thanks

Maybe start a discussion in a mailing list about this. See if someone else is interested.

We cannot move it to [community] as it is needed in [extra] as dependence.

Snowman updated the package to python3, so the "last maintainer that touched the PKGBUILD" is Snowman. Not me, neither Giovanni.

Which packages in [extra] depends on python-lxml? I could only see python2-beautifulsoup4, which is in [community]. As far as I can tell, no [extra] packages depends on python-lxml.

python-lxml is a split package, check python2-lxml

Thank you. I see that the only [extra] packages that depend on python2-lxml are translate-toolkit (dep) and inkscape (optdep).
translate-toolkit is also an orphan, where Giovanni is the last packager.
translate-toolkit in turn is only needed by by kdesdk-lokalize (optdep), which is maintained by Andrea Scarpino.
inkscape is maintained by Gaetan Bisson.

If translate-toolkit and python2-lxml is important for inkscape, could Geatan Bisson please adopt both packages?
If translate-toolkit and python2-lxml is important for kdesdk-lokalize, could Andrea Scarpino please adopt both packages?
If the last packager of translate-toolkit feels so inclined, could translate-toolkit and python2-lxml be adopted by Giovanni Scafora?
If none of the above, could translate-toolkit and python2-lxml please be moved to [community] or unsupported?

Thanks.

As far as I am concerned, we can move the whole python-lxml split package to [community]: it is optional for inkscape and, in fact, everything in [extra] but translate-toolkit (which itself is only needed for kdesdk-lokalize). I'm unassigning myself since I do not care for those things.

Ok. May the package please be moved to [community], then?

No, just wait. I'll do it.
