A simple text cell copy and past seems to work well here.

What desktop do you use (gtk2/3/kde4) - what VCL are you running?
Is there anything in your system log (dmesg)?

I am running Xmonad. What do you mean by VLC?

The problem occurs on a file created with a previous version of LO. It crashes when coping (relatively) formulas. Starting from the terminal and after the crash: no message in the terminal. Nothing reported in dmesg.

Please check for similar upstream reports. It's not a packaging issue.

check 3.6.2 and report it upstream if it still exists

Is this still a problem?
