DetailsHere are the steps to change the language to Romanian (replace "ro_RO.UTF-8" with anything else):
# loadkeys ro_win # setfont Lat2-Terminus16 # nano /etc/locale.gen en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8 ro_RO.UTF-8 UTF-8 # locale-gen # export LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8 I think that all of these can be solved by using something like: # setlanguage RO # setlanguage FR # setlanguage IT etc. The list of keymaps can be found here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KEYMAP, and the (UTF-8) locales are from /etc/locale.gen. PS: The "Lat2-Terminus16" font was chosen because according to "/usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/README.Lat2-Terminus16", it claims to support "about 110 language sets". Romanian characters do not show up without it: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1157295#p1157295 |

The "Lat2-Terminus16" font should probably be loaded by default at boot. Because while the default font is just fine for English-speaking users (and Lating-based languages), it's missing a lot of glyphs for the rest of the world.

If you want this done automatically on booting the ISO, then you want to file a feature request against ArchISO.

such feature (boot params for locale, etc) was removed in archiso, and will come again when systemd will be used be default.
