Arch is moving to systemd as default init system, so it is useful for all daemons to have service files to allow them to interoperate with systemd easily. AFAIK, Arch prefers that either an upstream service file should be used, or if not present should be maintained in the package. http://patrakov.blogspot.com.au/2011/01/writing-systemd-service-files.html provides good information on writing service files Thanks |
