Many times when I login into GNOME fallback mode with enabled compositing manager, I see random color rectangles for two seconds. It caused by a debugging variable 'show_redraw', which is uninitialised on startup. Applying the attached patch solves the problem. Upstream bug report: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=658036 Additional info: metacity 2.34.5-1 Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable compositing manager $ gsettings set org.gnome.metacity compositing-manager true 2. Log out and log in again into GNOME fallback mode multiple times |
