The paragraph on setting the locale in the 'Configure the System section of the Installation Guide is missing a step:

export LANG='chosen language'

If this step is omitted then locale-gen reports no errors but does not build the locale correctly resulting in a 'bsdcpio failed to set default locale' when building initramfs.

And just a comment to the devs, having done an install without AIF I much prefer the new way.

IMO someone should just edit the wiki page. See  FS#31226

No, the install.txt in the ISO is as important as the wiki.

Use case: Joe is installing Arch and he does not have access to another machine to read/print the WIKI article. Thanks to the magic of virtual consoles Joe can read install.txt on one console and perform the install on a second console.

That is exactly what I was doing when I encountered the problem. I had to go to another location to figure out why I was getting the error message, then return to the machine I was installing Arch on.
