Do you have same issue with the new version 0.5.3-1 in [community] as well?
Comment by RG (weedfreak) - Friday, 31 August 2012, 20:26 GMT
Yes exactly the same error message, I asume I am missing a depedancy that is not listed as a dependancy, perhaps.

Is there anything I can do to help resolve this?
I have had no help from the sigil site either.

Just tried to install 6.0 with the same error message "Could not load a transcoding service" just what is the programme looking for? Apart from blaming Arch packagers the Sigil forum has offered no constructive help and 2 months of waiting for some advice or requests for more information here has had no effect.

Please tell me what I need to do to get this to work, or ask me for information so I can give more ideas back and get it to work.

I tried building from ABS which loaded boost and gen desk as dependencies, probably build time dependencies? The build failed due to validity errors.

The main problem with the community build seems to be due to locale settings, starting with " LC_ALL=en_GB.utf8 sigil " works, it seems something is built expecting en_US locale.
