DetailsDescription:
After some time when a video conversation (GTalk/XMPP) is active, the system would hang. The clock still ticks, but all input devices are unavailable (e.g. the mouse cursor does not move, the keyboard does not react). This issue is discussed[1] and a pull request is already sent for 3.6. The upstream pull request is at http://patchwork.linuxtv.org/patch/13573/ After applying the patch manually, I did not have any lockup issues anymore, nor did I detect any regressions. Additional info: * 3.4.4-3 was affected, 3.5-rc7 was still affected and looking in the branches of 3.4 and 3.5, those are still affected. * hardware: USB webcam (integrated in laptop screen), 04f2:b18d Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd Steps to reproduce: 1. On affected systems, start Pidgin 2. Start a video conversation 3. Wait [1]: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=5003A1BC.6090701%40maxim-ic.com&forum_name=linux-uvc-devel |
