DetailsDescription:
VLC tries to load root TLS certificates from /usr/etc, which doesn't exist. This causes all certificate validations to fail, making it impossible to load streams over HTTPS. This appears to be due to a quirk of autoconf, which sets sysconfdir=$prefix/etc. The obvious fix is to pass --sysconfdir=/etc to ./configure (patch attached). Additional info * Tested with vlc-2.0.1-2, but also affects current package (vlc-2.0.3-1). Steps to reproduce: 1. Run vlc --verbose 2 "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0" 1a. Video does not play. 1b. Relevant output: [0xb6b03ed8] gnutls tls client debug: loading x509 credentials from /usr/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt... [0xb6b03ed8] gnutls tls client warning: cannot access x509 in /usr/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt: No such file or directory [0xb6b03ed8] gnutls tls client error: TLS session: access denied [0xb6b03ed8] gnutls tls client error: Certificate could not be verified [0xb6b03ed8] gnutls tls client error: Certificate's signer was not found [0xb6b03ed8] main tls client error: TLS client session handshake error [0xb6d00618] main input error: open of `https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0' failed |
