grip needs yelp to display its help "files" (i.e. when the buttons on the Help tab are clicked). Thus, yelp should be added as a dependency or, at least, there should be a .install file to echo that you need yelp to access the help.

What if you never need any help? Every application should have this dependency for the help function. If you call the help function of an application and it says it can't launch yelp, isn't the message clear then? ;)

Well, the problem is that grip does't display any error message. I first thought that it was because it was looking for files in /usr/share/doc. On a closer look, I realized that the help files were installed in /opt/gnome/share/gnome/help/ so I guessed that it might need yelp to display them.

I agree on your point that not everyone needs help. That's why I suggested a .install file. Of course, apps that display an "yelp not found" message don't need this .install file.
