I have (like many others) a /var/log mounted as tmpfs, and after a reboot it is obviously empty. User nobody (as polipo runs) doesn't have writing permission on /var/log. So polipo can't create the new log file (/var/log/polipo.log). And it fails to start. Fix: /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/polipo.conf : f /var/log/polipo.log 0640 nobody log - |

Reason for closing: Won't fix
Additional comments about closing: by default we don;t mount /var/log on tmpfs. Please fix this problem by creating the file you mentioned and update the wiki

/var/log as tmpfs is NOT a common thing, and it's very much not the default. You need to take care of this yourself.
