DetailsAltough ntop package is supposed to be on version 4.1.0, ntop itself reports being "x86_64-3.1.1-1-ARCH-linux-gnu (64 bit)". What is happening here?

Hmm... Yes, it could be the arch of the machine where it was built.

At the moment of writing, they say latest stable version is 4.1.0, but if you click Download, you get a link to download the 5.0 one (which, BTW, is kinda broken, maybe because of Google Maps API; only the svn version worked for me).
