DetailsDescription: Upon upgrading the filesystem, symlinks are created to the new /run and /run/lock, however those are removed from the uucp group (if they were in it before...I am unsure). This can break serial port functionality such as the ability to connect to an AVR-based Arduino.
Additional info: In order to fix the problem, you can add the /run and /run/lock directories to the uucp group and serial communication functionality returns to affected users. Steps to reproduce: Upgrade from old /var/run and /var/lock filesystem to new implementation. |

/run and /run/lock are not grouped to uucp by default. This must have been something you did yourself, so it's not really surprising that its overwritten. These directories are intentionally owned by root.
