Take a look at attached screenshot, 1.07.02 is clean (look at small sizes), 2.00.0 is blurry (some color blur, look at small sizes again)

I think it's a feature and not a bug but I don't like it either.

It's an *improvement* (much smoother), not a bug. Can't please everyone, with fonts. Read e.g. http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-723341.html and configure font rendering to suit yourself. There's many things to tweak, especially with Infinality's rendering.

Paul Bredbury, 1.07.02 looks OK, and 2.00.0 is blurry, so I think everything is OK with font rendering configuration on my machine.
Anyway, I tried some different configurations (with RGB subpixel rendering, with different hinting style, etc), but I don't like them. I'd like to use thin fonts without any colored blur at edges.

Have you contacted upstream about this (non) issue?

Any news? Does this still happen with 2.00.1?
Comment by Matthias Dienstbier (fs4000) - Sunday, 21 October 2012, 20:33 GMT
I don't see any difference at all.
