so the "new" pkgfile package is missing a cron file.
Is it expected of the user to create one to update the databases, or one could be provided by default and activated like it was before ?

Also, the "command not found" hook is gone too. There was some problem with it. But it was rare case of fork bomb like said in  FS#21771  (look at my comment) and is likely caused by the reason given in  FS#27313

the command not found hook is in
pkgfile /usr/share/doc/pkgfile/command-not-found.bash
pkgfile /usr/share/doc/pkgfile/command-not-found.zsh

Right. There's no config for this to intentionally avoid the fork bomb. As the manpage mentions, add this to your cron and shell init scripts.
