Mailing list should send bounce messages when they refuse to send a message.

By example arch-dev-public is restricted to dev but sending a message to the list doesn't advertise you about your fail.

Same issue with arch-project, if you forget (or misconfigure your sender) your mail will be destroyed without any notification for the sender.

I think we should be courteous and advertise about the failure.

Just tried it:

This list is for ArchLinux Development and is not open for public
comment. If there is an important issue, please reply directly to the
original author or to the general ArchLinux mailing list
(arch-general@archlinux.org).

Write access to this list may be provided in special circumstances,
and may need to be evaluated by the rest of the developers. Please
send an email to aaron@archlinux.org to request write access if you
feel you fit a "special circumstance".

Pierre you maintain the mailing list right? Else please assign it to the right dev :)

I have always received a notice such as Karol got, so it always worked for me.

  • Field changed: Status (Assigned → Unconfirmed)
  • Assignment removed
