gnome-shell screncast is not working:
Pressing "ctrl+shift+alt+r" results only in the xsession error message:

Window manager warning: Log level 16: Cannot open output file 'Screencast from 20.07.2012 09:43:02.webm': No such file or directory

Sounds like your missing mlt? since mlt provides webm.

Just tried installing mlt... didn't help. Same error message. (By the way: before installing the gstreamer-bad-plugins, there was another error about a missing vp8 codec. So the webm support should not be a problem now)

I get this here too. It used to work when i first installed gnome and gnome-extra along with my previous kde setup.
After removing kde and some stuff from the gnome-extra group it doesnt work.
What is gnome using for screencasting? I thought it was the gstreamer plugins as well, all of which are present on my system. Installing mlt doesnt make it work.

downgrade libvpx to 1.0.0-1 and no problem.
