Please check the device permission. I've seen someone lately that 666 would be needed to get it print again. There's something in the cups wiki about this.

I can confirm this.
HP_Deskjet_F2400_series now stopped printing. (cups-pdf and xsane are working)
The error message is /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed and in the error_log it is printer-state-message="/usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops failed"
Packages:
cups : cups 1.5.3-5 ; filters : foomatic-filters 1:4.0.17_20120712-1, cups-filters 1.0.19-1.
One used applied a patch and details https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=145463 at post #3.
even root could not do the printing and hence permission is not an issue.

Better check our svn how we build cups-filters next time before posting this ;)

Both patches are from cups-filters bazar post release and also included in our 1.0.19 pkg.

Please check cups-filters 1.0.20 in testing.
Comment by Giovanni (ksniffer) - Sunday, 22 July 2012, 14:40 GMT
I can test the printer with the cups-filter 1.0.10 not before 48 hours...

Sound like a configuration issue or a device related upstream issue. Most other printing issues are solved and you seem on your own now.
Comment by Krishnan (kgas) - Tuesday, 24 July 2012, 13:17 GMT
the recent update solves the issue, thanks Andreas.I need to learn more about svn ;-)
