Looks like it doesn't depend on gnome-icon-theme and lynx isn't needed for building it.

If you'd bother to look at the configure script you'd see that lynx is used for documentation generation. Presumably, if it isn't found, doc isn't generated. I can't comment on the gnome-icon-theme dep, but I assume it's required to actually have icons for various things in the app itself...

Sorry for not bothering to look at the configure script. I ran it without having lynx installed and it completed. I didn't notice it printed a warning about not finding lynx. Regarding gnome-icon-theme, pavucontrol runs fine without it, displays icons and prints no errors in the terminal. Besides the pavucontrol package in other distributions doesn't depend on it and I haven't noticed anything about gnome-icon-theme on the upstream website.

pavucontrol uses GNOME stock icons. All of those are included in gnome-icon-theme, though other themes could have overrides for it.
