Description:
It seems Eclipse Juno (4.2) was just uploaded to [extra], and eclipse-cdt 8.0.2 doesn't work with it. This situation would have been avoided if eclipse-cdt had a dependency on a specific version of eclipse instead.

no, it shouldn't have. eclipse-cdt just lacks an update.

Ionut, note that I'm not saying "should", I'm saying "would".

Your "solution", to upgrade eclipse-cdt, will solve the problem for now. However, putting in a more precise dependency will prevent the problem from happening the next time around.

This isn't a big issue, as long as the update to eclipse-cdt doesn't take too long. I don't want to be left with a broken eclipse installation for too long.

eclipse-cdt 8.1.0 is updated in [community] now. It may take a few minutes until all the servers catch up. Quick enough? :) If not, we could consider a "todo" for the next update of eclipse.

The update to community/eclipse-cdt 8.1.0-1 did not fix the disappearance of cdt in eclipse for me (having extra/eclipse 4.2-1 installed).

Daniel, it works here. Can you please open a bug report for the other issue you're having? This current version of eclipse-cdt does depend on eclipse>=4.2.

The issue I reported would only be properly fixed if the dependency on eclipse has an upper bound.

Added dependency on exact version 4.2 instead. Thanks for making it clear. It will appear in [community] shortly.
