DetailsThe ati-drivers pkg requires that AGP support is built as a module and also that certain FB drivers are also compiled as modules.
Please can the next kernel modularize these drivers so that people can build ati-drivers without a recompile. It also means we can host an ATI driver pkg built against the stock kernel in [community] |

That is the best info I can offer. Maybe FB is necessary. It would be good if someone who actually used the drivers was supporting this request but what can I do? People can't even help themselves...
Ati drivers need all the agp-related stuff to be built as a module to work and, in order, to compile agpgart as a module is needed to compile FB_I810 and FB_I810_GTF as modules otherwise you are not allowed to select agpgart as module. Anyway, the real answer should be: "are FB_I810 and FB_I810_GTF really needed???". That's all...
C ya :)
