Description:

Pacman --noconfirm ignores --ignore <package> and IgnorePkg in pacman.conf


Additional info: current pacman version in repos


Steps to reproduce:

[mrgreen@macmillan etc]$ sudo pacman -S xorg-drivers --ignore xf86-intel-sna --noconfirm

I would bet this is the along the same lines as this bug https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29935 and about how pacman handles groups

AUR does not come into the equation this time, would not have dared to post bug otherwise. It not so much of a bug than a feature...

My comment was not about the aur aspect of the other bug, but rather how I mentioned there, in the comments, that --ignore does not have the same effect with groups, which is what you are saying here.

The issue here is that "Y" is the default reply when prompted, i.e.

# pacman -S dcron --ignore dcron
:: dcron is in IgnorePkg/IgnoreGroup. Install anyway? [Y/n]

It's totally unrelated. I'm not even sure this is a bug.

To me --ignore should ignore with --noconfirm why else would I want it ignored...
