since about arch kernel 2.6.30 I've got following effect on my Aer Aspire Laptop: Archlinux is booting fine but most! the display gone black after loading the udevd during the startup and never returns! The boot process is still ongoing and after a short time the system is ready but there is no more output on the display. I guess the switch from the textmode interface (e.g. grub menu) to the graphics mode isn't working properly. If there is a way to stay on textmode during boot it will solve my problem.
