Details

Description:

When powering off the machine, it hangs after these messages to console:

> POWER OFF
[ 986.589106] Power down.

This behaviour occurs approx. 50% of all times the machine is shut down, with any kernel so far. The machine is an Asus PRO36S notebook.

Try using poweroff instead of halt. Also, are you using initscripts or systemd? Which version?

Wait, I just noticed you are running linux-3.2.9. This kernel is many months old...
Please do `pacman -Syu` and update your system before reporting bugs.
We cannot diagnose or fix bugs from the past.
