pacman -Syu followed by reboot. Starte browser, X freezes.

Without any logs/information/anything we can't help you and it looks like https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29503 to me.
Report to nvidia that you have problems, since we are unable to fix the binary blob.
Look here for support and how to create a bugreport for nvidia.
