DetailsAfter upgrading linux from 3.3.8-1 to 3.4.2-2 and restarting the system there appears the follow errors during loading of udev:
Jun 15 12:56:21 localhost kernel: [ 6.380735] microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd.bin Jun 15 12:56:21 localhost kernel: [ 6.381699] microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd.bin Jun 15 12:56:21 localhost kernel: [ 6.382781] microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd.bin Jun 15 12:56:21 localhost kernel: [ 6.383519] microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd.bin Also it appears Jun 15 12:56:21 localhost kernel: [ 11.834737] NOHZ: local_softirq_pending 08 while loading the network. No configuration was changed, I just upgraded and restarted. Please note also the German forum tread https://bbs.archlinux.de/viewtopic.php?id=21733 There you can ascertain that the first mentioned error message appears with the following CPUs: * AMD Athlon II X4 640 * AMD Phenom II X4 945 * AMD Phenom II X4 955 |
This task depends upon
new kernel loads microcode modules automatically.
