Description:
Upgrading kdelibs to 4.8.3-2 causes kde startup failure. After you login splash screen is showed for maybe half a second and then X restarts and you see login screen again.

Additional info:
* package version(s): kdelibs-4.8.3-2
* config and/or log files etc.: no special configs available, everything as is by default like after KDE first run.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Upgrade kdelibs from 4.8.3-1 to 4.8.3-2
2. Restart your PC
3. ????
4. PROFIT!!!!111oneoneone

PS: downgrading to kdelibs-4.8.3-1 solves the problem. I have xorg-server - 1.11.4-1, xorg-server-common - 1.11.4-1 and xf86-input-evdev - 2.6.0-4 if it helps.

Did you upgrade kdelibs only or the whole system?

Well I try to keep my system up to date. And today there was a notification about updates available. I updated them all (about 15 to 20 packages, do not remember which packages actually were listed), but some of them caused trouble. So I downgraded problematic packages and now my list of updates is like this:

[realgecko@localhost ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu
...
:: Replace udev with core/systemd-tools? [Y/n]
...
Targets (9): initscripts-2012.05.1-3 kdelibs-4.8.3-2 libpulse-2.0-2 pulseaudio-2.0-2 systemd-tools-184-2
udev-182-4 [removal] xf86-input-evdev-2.7.0-2 xorg-server-1.12.2-1 xorg-server-common-1.12.2-1

Removal of udev caused X server start failure. I already created bug report about this. So I removed systemd-tools and got udev back. After that the problem described above happened. So I decided to rollback to kdelibs 4.8.3-1 and it helped.

kdelibs is links to libudev.so.1. Check your udev installs that and try to do a full-update.

Aaaah, OK, understood. I think bug can be closed as "false alarm".
To have libudev.so.1 I need to upgrade initscripts which will cause installation of systemd-tools and removal of udev-182-4. That will cause X server 1.11 fail to start. So I will have to update it to version 1.12 and this is impossible for me cause it fails to detect my input devices with xf86-input-evdev-2.6.0-4 and xf86-input-evdev - 2.7.0-2 have mouse glitch in some 3D apps. Everything is so complicated :)
So I think I gotta go and post bugreport on freedesktop.org so someone could fix xf86-input-evdev and keep my Arch away from updates until everything is fixed %(
