Description:
flashplugin has a dependency on HAL for playing DRM'd content. DRM's content playback in used by some Amazon Instant videos. (for eg.) See: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/flash-player-11-problems-playing.html Additional info: flahplugin: 11.2.202.233-1 Steps to reproduce: [Steps taken for above URL] Test protected video content playback using the demo player 1. First, launch the Adobe demo video player container: http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/SVP/SampleVideoPlayer_FP.html Note the Adobe Flash Player version in the lower left of the demo video shell. Make sure that indicate 11.2 or higher 2. Play sample protected content. Enter the following URL in the field "Input the video URL: (case-sensitive) http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/Content/anonymous.f4v Press the [Play] button at the bottom of the video container. The anonymous.f4v protected content should play. (This video is called the Getty "train" video.) Observed behavior: The content does not play without hal installed and running Suggested action: At least add HAL as an optional dependency, and provide notice to users installing/upgrading flashplugin. |

Note that HAL is deprecated and has been dropped from our repos.
i cannot do anything about it. closing
