i8kmon is a kernel module created to solve heating problems in dell computers. It allows one to control fans speed and other similar options.
Although I have supported hardware (dell XPS m1330) the kernel module wouldn't load:
# modprobe i8k
ERROR: could not insert 'i8k': No such device

thus leaving me with no options but to force it:
# modprobe i8k force=1

works fine. It would be nice to have it fixed
