Detailsjackd running with jackd -Rs -d alsa causes xruns very easily, cutting through audio....
on the jack-audio-connection-kit page they have solutions for fixing this.... It's very interuptive |

They mention mounting /tmp/jack as tmpfs solves some problems, or making a ramfs on /mnt/ramfs and compiling jack with --with-default-tmpdir=/mnt/ramfs
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
Hence /tmp/jack exists in ram already. So none of the other options will help you on xruns. My guess is, that your soundcard uses a poorly performing Alsa driver, my via laptop eg does so. My soundblaster live powered box run w/o problems on the same generic jacksettings coming with the package. Have you already tried the seetings you suggested by recompiling jack on your own?
