DetailsRemoving the e1000e module causes Linux to crash on certain Thinkpads.
If you don't remove this module, your laptop may not shut down completely. However, removing this module in /etc/rc.local.shutdown causes frequent crashes, which *also* prevents your laptop from shutting down completely. I'm using linux 3.3.3-1, but this has been happening for months. Steps to reproduce: - Run your laptop on battery (this is not reproducible when your laptop is charging). - Run "rmmod e1000e" while shutting down your laptop. - Kernel crashes. |
