DetailsChromium browser is always using my HDD. I can clearly hear my drive writing every 3 seconds. It writes very often.
I have the cache on a tmpfs. I thought it was kernel related with jbd2, but I was wrong. I talked with someone on this report: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42895 and he said it's Chromium fault. Enabled debugging on my kernel and watched the result of the command: "echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/ext4/ext4_sync_file_enter/enable" and I can see Chromium apps using my disk. Here the output: http://pastebin.archlinux.fr/443140 Tested with no extensions and blank page, same result, even with a single tab. Additional info: Kernel 3.3.4-2 (same things with 3.3.4-1) Chromium 18.0.1025.168-1 (x86_64) fstab: http://pastebin.archlinux.fr/441560 Steps to reproduce: Just run Chromium and navigate. |
