Details

Both are not used by the panel. In the panel desktop file editing is provided by exo (exo-desktop-item-edit) and libsm is a dependency of libxfce4ui, no libsm specific code inside the panel.

I have removed the libsm dependency in /trunk, but I'm not going to push a new package since libsm is required by libxfce4ui (which is a dependency of xfce4-panel.)

desktop-file-utils is included because we run 'update-desktop-database -q' on package installation/upgrade/removal.

(And this is done because panel-desktop-handler.desktop includes a MimeType declaration.)

Please let me know if I'm missing something in regard to the above. :)

A yeah, the mimetype makes sense. I was only looking from the Xfce point of view, sorry.
